DISCLAIMER:IGNORANCE WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED AS AN EXCUSE. If you screw up the process and as a result lose your bid, it is no one's fault but your own. It is YOUR responsibility to know the system. We’re all mature and responsible players…well, most of the time. DKPIf you're already fairly familiar with DKP you may wish to review the bullet point summary. DKP stands for Dragon Killing Points. It's a points system created to reward those who attend raids and kill the bosses - effort in, reward out. Think of it as money. You work, earn money, and spend your money on things you want. Essentially, that's just what a DKP system is - money. You earn points for bosses we kill. You can save them up or buy everything you possibly can. It's all up to you. Firstly, some basic rules: LOOT CONTROVERSY - If you throw a hissy fit over some pixels on a screen, you need to seriously rethink your position in the guild, and your relation to the game in general. Sure, things happen and when you spend as much time on something as most of us do in game, you get upset when things don't go your way. That's not what this is about. This is about the small minority of players that may slip through our recruitment process and carry on about it, create a scene, and disrupt the enjoyment of the game for others. If at any time the officers think you are falling into this category, you will forfeit all DKP for the raid, not be eligible for anymore loot, and if you continue to make an ass out of yourself, be removed from the guild. Though not hardcore, Inertia has guild policies for a reason - we take our integrity and progress seriously. That doesn’t mean we’re not out to have fun, it’s just that certain behaviour will not be tolerated. Period. Now that that’s clear – these points should also be kept in mind, particularly if you think you may be about to engage in any of the behaviour outlined above: 1. The guild raids for the betterment of the GUILD, not individuals. 2. The purpose of raiding is NOT to get YOU all the epics you can carry, get you rich, or basically do anything for the INDIVIDUAL. It is a GUILD endeavour for the betterment of the GUILD. The SystemOur system is the simple one. We'll earn points from boss kills, and we'll bid on the loot. Generally, one (1) point per boss unless specified, as well as a one (1) bonus point for first time kills. A boss mob is defined by whatever the raid leader says is a boss mob. There will come a time when certain mobs that we consider "boss" mobs now are trivial for us. The raid leader has the discretion to waive DKP awards for these bosses. DKP rewards will be different from raid instance to raid instance, and current DKP reward levels will be listed in the forums. There will be no specific on-time bonuses. Raids will be filled via a web-based planner, which will allow you to put your name down for up-and-coming raids ahead of time from outside the game. Joining the raid in this way puts you on a list. If a raid is oversubscribed, the raid leaders and officers reserve the right to exclude people from the raid in order to set a balanced group. For some raids we will award standby DKP. Players who make themselves available for the entire duration of the raid will be awarded bonus DKP. Players who are on this standby list and log off before the raid is over (or do not join the raid when asked) do not earn any DKP. There will be no bonuses for speed. (Killing X number of bosses in Y amount of time). The amount of DKP awarded at the end of a raid will be determined by the amount of DKP spent on loot during the raid, plus bonuses for bosses downed and full attendance. The amount of DKP spent will be divided by the number of people the raid is CAPABLE of holding. This is the amount that will be awarded to the people that are with the raid from beginning to end, plus an attendance bonus. If you leave the raid early, your DKP will be calculated only from DKP spent while you were there. Same for if you arrive late. EXAMPLES:In ZA, 100 DKP are spent on loot from three bosses being downed. Since this is a 10 man instance, we divide 100 by 10, and award 10 DKP for points spent on loot. We divide by 10 even if we have less. 3 points are awarded for the 3 bosses downed, plus a further 2 points for remaining for the duration of the raid, resulting in a total of 15 DKP being awarded to each raider. In SSC, 200 DKP are spent on loot. Since this is a 25 man instance, we divide by 25 and this time 8 DKP are awarded for points spent on loot. This time 4 bosses were downed, with the last one being a first time kill! So that's 10 points for boss kills (3x2 for the repeat kills, plus 4 for the first time kill), and a further 5 points for remaining for the entire raid. This results in 23 DKP being awarded to each raider. General Information:If more players wish to join the raid over the raid capacity, the raid leader(s) will determine the order of invites. This essentially amounts to providing the GM, raid leader and dkp officer priority, followed by members in the order of necessity. We will not spend all night calling you to the raid if your turn is up. You will be asked once. If you don't respond, we go to the next person. There will be no more of "I asked first", etc, etc. Exceptions can and will be made at the Raid Leaders discretion. This is further explained under the guild policies. Alternate characters will not share points with the main character regardless if a separate account or the same account. Alternate characters will earn points and spend points as a separate entity. THERE WILL BE NO POINT SHARING. Bidding will be silent. People will send the designated person a single tell, usually an officer, with how many points they bid on the item and nothing else. Bids cannot allow the person go into the negative. There is no minimum or maximum bid amount. Bidding will be taken by a designated officer, usually the raid leader. The designated person will declare bidding open, receive the bids, and close the bidding approximately 30 seconds later. Bids that have been submitted before or after the allotted time window will not count. Cancelled bids must be done before a winner is declared. Bids not sent via whisper and placed in say, raid chat, guild chat, Ventrilo, or any channel other than whisper will be voided. Once a winning bid has been determined (the highest bid with the person who has those DKP to spend) the person who has that highest bid wins the loot. The amount of points he spends will be either one point greater than the second highest bid, or one half of his bid, whichever is higher. IE Warrior A bids 20. Warrior B bids 16. Warrior A wins the bid, and spends 17 DKP. Round down to the nearest whole point. IE Paladin A bids 18, Druid A bids 3. Paladin A wins with spending 9 DKP. In the case of a tie, those who shared the highest bid will random 1-100. The winner then receives the loot and pays the amount of DKP that he or she bid. The act of declaring a tie is the same as declaring a winner, in that you may not back out. In the case of only one person bidding for loot, the amount they spend will be one-half the amount they bid. IE Rogue X bids 15 DKP. No one else bids. Rogue X is awarded the item for 7.5 DKP. DKP for the current raid is not calculated into your total DKP. In other words, you do not earn DKP as we go. As soon as possible following every raid I will update the DKP totals on the website and make a post in this forum. THIS IS THE OFFICIAL TOTAL. It is your responsibility to know how many DKP you have. If you believe there is a mistake, either send me a PM or a whisper in game and we will go over your totals to see where one of us made a mistake and get it corrected. If a mistake either in your favour or against goes unnoticed until raid time, tough luck. Any raid finalizes the current DKP list, whether it is in error or not. DKP you spend is subtracted from your total as we go through the raid. A member's DKP may include fractional amounts, as a result of this system. However, they can only bid in whole-numbers. On the whole, there will be no restrictions on what loot someone can bid on, with the exception of class-specific loot. If a warrior feels he wishes to bid on a dagger because it would increase his DPS for whichever talent spec he is, then by all means, bid. It is his earned points to spend how he chooses, much like his own money would be. However, please understand that this item may be better suited to a dagger spec rogue who happens to be there also, and bid accordingly. A polite way to approach this would be for the warrior to post in the rogue forums stating his intention to bid for this dagger should it drop (EVERYONE should look up the loot tables of the bosses in the instance so you are aware of what to expect). The rogues will then voice their opinion, and it may turn out that none of them are interested in it, or they may have suggestions for a better alternative. Also, officers reserve the right to veto any bid they deem necessary. In such a case, the majority of the officers will decide if the bid is good, or void. Officers also reserve the right to limit ANY loot to certain classes, or in some cases, dictate certain loot to certain players, thus foregoing the DKP process. In most cases, this will be a very rare occurrence. If you have a problem with this, please refer to rule #2 above. Now, understand that we are human and we WILL make mistakes. Sometimes we may wrongly dictate loot or otherwise screw up. PLEASE, do not flip out about this. Refer to the opening statement. If you think we screwed up, be mature about it. The time and place to deal with it is via whispers AFTER the raid. I assure you, we aren't out to "get" anyone. If someone leaves the guild for any reason, their DKP will be reset to zero. The only exception is if they have left by accident and return to the guild shortly thereafter. Also, please note that there are two requirements for raiding... that you have all the required mods and that you use Ventrilo. If you do not meet both of these at the raid, you will be awarded HALF the DKP total at the end of the raid. If, for some reason, you cannot get both these things, contact an officer in game and explain your situation. We can be flexible. STARTING DKPWe have tried to design our DKP system to give new members a chance at loot, while still rewarding regular raiding members. For this reason, new members are awarded a starting number of 10 DKP points. RAID TIMESWe will keep this as simple as it can be. A raid officially begins when the Raid Leader says "This raid has started". That is when the raid has begun, regardless of how long people have been there killing trash, etc. The raid ends when the Raid Leader declares the raid has ended, regardless of whether people continue to raid at this point. These are the official beginning and endings that will be used to determine DKP awards. We will usually strive to begin at the posted starting time and finish at the posted closing time, but this is not always the case. We won’t start a raid early. GUILD BANKThe guild bank will primarily be used to purchase and store materials and some items, mainly for raid consumables. From time to time we will advertise a lack of supply of certain materials, and will award BANK POINTS for donations. Bank points will be redeemable for additional DKP at a much reduced rate (so as to limit broad DKP buying), so please keep an eye out for forum posts to take advantage of this when it is made available. ALL non-boss mob loot from raids will go to the guild bank. If you don't like that, please refer to rule #2. One miner, one skinner, and one herbalist may be designated to collect materials for the bank during the raid. If an item drops that no one knows the use for, it will go to the guild bank. If we screw up and send something to the bank we shouldn't have, it will get to the appropriate person if possible. If not possible, well, now we know better next time. Any loot that goes unbid upon will be given to the guild bank. All unwanted Bind on Pickup loot will be disenchanted and the mats sent to the guild bank. |
